EWI-006 Silicone Paint Premium Bio
Premium Bio Silicone Paint is a high performance, breathable paint, suitable for use internally and externally. Premium Bio Silicone Paint will actively resist organic growth and dirt, which makes it ideal for areas with a high level of surrounding vegetation such as forests and parks. This paint can also be used as the finishing topcoat in the EWI Pro heritage system, as its breathability works well in conjunction with the breathable lime render.
Preparation
Before application, the surface of the substrate must be clean and dry. Surfaces that are not intended for painting must be adequately protected. Check that the Silicone Paint is the requested colour. Mix Silicone Paint thoroughly within its container to ensure an even distribution of colour pigments. When using more than one tin of paint for the same surface, ensure that the batch numbers are matched.
Application
Apply the masonry paint using brushes, rollers or spray equipment. Best practice when using a silicone-based paint is to apply the paint to the substrate in a continuous manner one wall/surface at a time. This will ensure that there are no visible drying lines where sections of paint meet. When used as a topcoat to our Mineral Render system, the masonry paint should be applied 3-7 days after rendering and at the latest 21 days after rendering, depending on weather conditions. When painting over the top of multi-layer render coats, the last layer must be 7 days old.
Paints with intense colours (reflection coefficient Y < 20%) should not be used for large facades; the resulting temperature and UV radiation in these conditions may reduce the durability of paint coats and may cause colour fading.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What is the difference between Premium Bio and regular Silicone Paint?
The main difference between Silicone Paint and Premium Bio Silicone Paint is that Premium Bio will actively resist organic growth and dirt, which makes it ideal for areas with a high level of surrounding vegetation, such as forests and parks.
- Can I use Premium Bio to paint over my heritage system?
Silicone Paint Premium Bio can also be used as the finishing topcoat in the EWI Pro heritage system, as its breathability works well in conjunction with the breathable lime render.
- How long does Silicone Paint Premium Bio take to dry?
Silicone Paint Premium Bio takes approximately 12 hours to dry at a temperature of +20°C. At colder temperatures, drying times will be increased.
- How do I apply Silicone Paint?
We recommend applying the paint using a standard brush and roller. Starting at the top and working your way downwards to catch the paint as it drips and runs. Silicone Paint can be applied in multiple coats. Once the first is dry (after about 12 hours), you can review it with as many coats as desired. However, beware that – if your render has a finer grain size – the more coats of Silicone Paint you apply, the less visible the grain size will become.
