Description

Cornerstone Promix Medium Topcoat is a dry ready mixed render and plaster designed for finish render coats within an appropriate render system. Available in the colour tan, which provides an attractive light tan finish with a medium texture when floated with a plastic or wooden float and a smoother yet moderately textured finish when sponged.

Engineered with precision utilising 100% pure natural hydraulic lime, natural sands, and conservation-appropriate additives to create a high-performance render and plaster that withstands high-traffic areas or outdoor elements. Enhanced plasticity supports a decreased likelihood of slump and improved adhesion. Further, a longer open time makes this render undemanding to apply, level, and finish. Available as standard with Saint-Astier® NHL2. Other binders and mix ratios are available upon request.

Well-suited as part for those looking for a natural and traditional aesthetic or a medium textured finish.

  • Conservation appropriate additives
  • Vapour permeable for improved moisture management
  • Features the feel of a modern mortar
  • No pigments to prevent colour fading
  • No-fuss levelling and finishing
  • Increased water retention with decreased slumping
  • Minimised likelihood of shrinkage cracking
  • Enhanced workability for those behind the trowel
  • Extended working and finishing time
  • Promotes even curing for an improved bond

Technical Information:

Mix Ratio: 2:5, others available on request
Binder: NHL2, others available on request
Aggregate: 3mm down blended sand
Work: Rendering, Plastering
Coverage: A 25kg bag covers approx. 1.9m2 at 7mm thickness
Yield: A 25kg bag yields approx. 15 litres
Colours: Tan
Use: Internal, External
Coat: Topcoat
Standard: BS EN 998-1: 2016
Fire Rating: A1
Application: Manual

Area of Use:

Suitable for internal or external use, where the binder strength is appropriate for the host background or surface.

Promix Medium Topcoat suits various internal or external finishing render coats, typically including float coats and sponged coats within an appropriate render system. Appropriate for various project types, including conservation, renovation, or sustainable construction.

Promix Medium Topcoat can be used as a finer finish coat over Promix Coarse Basecoat or as the base coat of a two-coat application onto suitable wood wool render carrier boards with mesh in the basecoat.

A 25kg bag yields approximately 15 litres of lime render or plaster and covers roughly 1.9m² at a 7mm thickness. Consumption rates will change based on how even the background is and suction. On-site trials are advised for the best yield indication for your specific project.

As natural products, our kiln-dried sands may exhibit variations in colour, texture, and shape. While these variations are minimal, when colour consistency is crucial, we strongly advise each elevation is completed using material from the same batch.

Supplied in 25kg polythene-lined and colour and batch-code paper bags for easy identification on-site and palletised for ease of transport, storage, and handling. FIBC tonne bags are also available.

Do not use in temperatures below 5°C or above 30°C, or if freezing conditions are predicted within the following few weeks, including wind chill. We always advise following best practices for curing and protecting fresh lime renders and plasters. Protect from adverse environmental conditions, including frost, rain, direct sunlight and drying winds.

Store in covered and dry conditions, protected from environmental conditions, including water, damp or frost and clear from the ground. Always reseal packaging if product is still present.

Always read the available documentation before use. See the Download Documentation section below for more detailed product information, application guidance and datasheets.
