Livos 223 - Penetrating Fence Stain (DONNOS)

Application range

Livos DONNOS No. 223 Penetrating Fence Stain is a high-quality, natural wood stain specially formulated for exterior timber surfaces. Ideal for fences, wooden façades, barns, raised garden beds, outdoor play structures, and more, this breathable finish offers long-lasting protection while enhancing the wood's natural texture and grain.

Technical qualities

After three coats, it delivers excellent water-repellent and weather-resistant performance, helping your timber withstand the elements without peeling or cracking. Rated “Good” by Ökotest in the “Construction, Housing, Renovation” journal (Issue 4/2002), DONNOS 223 is a trusted solution for non-toxic wood protection.

Formulated with vegan, solvent-free ingredients, it meets safety standards for use around children and pets, tested for colour fastness against perspiration and saliva (DIN 53 160) and compliant with DIN EN 71, Part 9 for organic-chemical safety.

Application method

By brushing, dipping, or spraying at temperatures above 15°C (59°F) and dry weather conditions. At higher temperatures, please consider shorter drying times

Application Instructions

Apply using a brush, sprayer, or dip at temperatures above 15°C (59°F) in dry conditions. Higher temperatures may reduce drying times. A test application is recommended to determine exact coverage and absorption.

• Coverage: 1 litre covers approx. 10–15 m² (108–161 ft²) depending on surface absorbency
• Opacity: Semi-transparent stain
• Gloss Level: Silk-gloss
