Insulating Cork Render (EWI-745)

EWI-745 Lime and Cork Thermal Insulation Mortar is a versatile, sprayable coating designed to improve thermal insulation on both vertical and horizontal surfaces. Thanks to its compatibility with spray machines, its especially effective on irregular or uniquely shaped architectural elements. 

Intended Uses

Suitable substrates include ceramics, thermo-clay, bricks, lime mortars and concrete blocks.

Not recommended for OSB panels. For applications requiring thickness above 8cm, rigid insulation systems are advised.

Can be used for both interior and exterior projects.

Substrate Preparation

Substrates must be solid, dry, and free from dust, old plaster, microorganisms, gypsum, cement, or other material that may affect adhesion. Dampen the surface before application to ensure good adhesion and proper curing. This will also prevent dehydration and consequent cracking. For older substrates, it is recommended that a levelling parge coat is applied for uniformity.     

Product Preparation

EWI-745 Lime and Cork Thermal Insulation Mortar comes as a 10kg dry mix. Mix 4.5L of water with the bag’s contents and continue mixing for 3-5 minutes until the mixture is homogeneous. For larger volumes of material, use an electric mixer on a lower speed. The usability after mixing is 60 minutes.

Application

Spray application: Apply in layers of 1-3cm. For thickness above 3cm, apply in multiple layers before the previous coat fully hardens.

Trowel Application: Apply in layers of 1-1.5cm. For greater thickness, use multiple coats, applied before earlier layers have set.

Storage Conditions

• Supplied in 10kg paper bags
• Store unopened in a cool, dry place, protected from rain.
• Use within 12 months of manufacture
• Once opened, the entire bag should be used immediately.
