EWI Pro High Polymer Render Coat (EWI-212) – 25kg

EWI-212 High Polymer Render Coat is a high-performance, polymer-modified, cement-based render for hand or machine application. It delivers excellent adhesion, flexibility and durability on a wide range of mineral backgrounds, and is ideal as a render coat, levelling layer or scratch coat ahead of further render layers or thin-coat finishes. EWI-212 replaces the previous EWI-222P Performance Basecoat.

Please note: EWI-212 is not intended for use as an insulation adhesive or as a basecoat on insulation boards. For EWI systems, use EWI-225 Premium Basecoat.

Application Overview:

• Substrate must be sound, stable, cured and free from dust, dirt, grease and loose material.
• Prime high-suction backgrounds with EWI-301 Water-Based Primer, or smooth/low-suction backgrounds with EWI-310 Universal Primer. Allow primer to dry fully.
• Mix with approx. 6.5 litres of clean, cool water per 25kg bag until smooth and lump-free. Stand for 5 minutes, then remix.
• Apply by trowel or spray machine at 5–20mm thickness.
• Where required, embed reinforcing mesh into the wet render with approx. 100mm overlaps.
• Apply only between +5°C and +25°C. Protect from frost, rain, strong sun and rapid drying while curing.

Coverage:

• Approx. 1.8kg per m² per mm – e.g. a 10mm coat uses around 18kg per m² (excluding wastage).

Safety and Storage:

• Contains Portland cement and hydrated lime – wet mortar can irritate or burn skin and eyes.
• Wear gloves, eye protection, protective clothing and a dust mask where necessary. Refer to the SDS for full details.
• Store unopened bags off the ground in a dry, well-ventilated place above 5°C. Shelf life: up to 12 months.

Does EWI-212 replace EWI-222P?

Yes – EWI-212 High Polymer Render Coat is the new version replacing EWI-222P Performance Basecoat.

Can EWI-212 be used to fix insulation boards?

No. EWI-212 is a render coat for mineral backgrounds and isn't intended as an insulation adhesive or basecoat. Use EWI-225 Premium Basecoat for EWI systems.

Can EWI-212 be sprayed?

Yes, it can be applied by spray machine or by hand with a trowel.

How much water do I mix with EWI-212?

Approx. 6.5 litres of clean water per 25kg bag. Avoid overwatering and never re-temper once it has started to set.

How thick should EWI-212 be applied?

Between 5mm and 20mm.
