WHY USE OUR PAINTS

Four2Four is a low VOC, high adhesion, primer/undercoat for interior and exterior use. Used as a multi-surface primer for difficult and non-porous surfaces.  

SURFACES & PREPARATION  

New interior and exterior unpainted surfaces (Wood, MDF, Tiles, Non-ferrous metals, UPVc and glass) as a primer. Four2Four can be used as an undercoat and bridging coat over primed and previously painted surfaces, and to help block some stains, tannins and as a knotting on timber.  

The substrate must be well adhered, free from impurities, clean, dry and dust free. Rake out any cracks and repair using the appropriate Graphenstone or compatible fillers. 

Lightly sand down any surfaces prior to application to improve adhesion. Make sure any metals are free of rust and ferrous materials primed appropriately if needed. It may be necessary to conduct site trials onto surfaces to test and make certain of suitability. 

APPLICATION METHOD 

Stir the product well before use as paint solids can settle on the base of the tub.  

Onto new surfaces, apply 1 or 2 coats evenly. Onto MDF, apply 2 coats. As a stain stop, apply 1 – 2 coats; as a knotting solution, criss-cross application to the individual knots, followed by 1-2 full coats.  

Sanding in between coats and prior to topcoats will aid adhesion and leave a smooth finish. When applying topcoats, it may help to ‘spot prime’ or apply additional layers to areas painted with Four2Four, to avoid any flashing or grinning through. 

Take care not to apply the paints too thickly, which can affect curing times and can cause micro cracking.
